It’s quite interesting meeting another yogi for photography session in a studio, I usually prefer the free walk of the city, finding a location together, the right light and shapes to create a set, all is quite different when it comes to photographing in a studio, the canvas is rather white and the frame is a square and there is where the yoga take the whole focus..

Q: How did you find out about yoga?
A: Yoga found me. I was always drawn to sports and loved stretching but my first proper yoga class wasn’t till I was late in my thirties, as I had a very busy corporate career while raisingchildren so never found the time to go to a class until then.
Q: How long have you been practising yoga?
A: I only started a committed yoga practice when I moved to London in 2010. It was a time when I decided to slow down and take a break from my fast pace career to do the things I never go time to do, including spend more time with the children, take a degree in journalism, and do more yoga.
Q: Why did you decided to start teaching yoga?
A: I went into teacher training last year after I realized I wanted to go deeper into understanding how yoga works. The motive was more personal, less to teach others but to teach myself about the principals of yoga, the flow and how one can reach a more mindful state through yoga. All of which I achieved in my practice.
Q: Where did you study teaching yoga?
A: I studied with Claire Missingham in London, and completed the Vinyasa Flow 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification.
Q: how long have you been teaching?
A: I have not been teaching a lot or consistently. I teach mostly privates as that allows me flexibility since I have started working and traveling again.
Q: Was there anything that was hard for you with your own personal practice? How did you overcome it?
A: Developing the physical yoga practice when you’re forty is challenging and I had more than one knee surgery when I started. Gradually I have learnt to respect my limits and appreciate what my body can still do. As I continue to learn and practice, it is the calming and liberating effect that draws me to yoga.
Q: Personal motto?
A: My motto and key learning from yoga: Learn how to breathe, practice with intention, and you will find that you start living the yoga way.
